This program is open to all boys in grades 5-8, who are residents
of Abington.The schedule will consist of about 18 games and 2 practices a week. Games will
be against neighboring towns. An entry fee of $220.00 will be charged to those who make the teams.
This will cover the cost of gym time, league fees, officials and equipment. There is no
cost to tryout.

ABINGTON STARS BASKETBALL
2010/2011
The Boy’s travel basketball tryouts are being held soon. Please see attached
for sign-up and tryout times. I recommend that you show up to both tryout dates and get there at least
15 minutes ahead of the scheduled start time to allow for check-in. There is no charge to tryout.
The rosters will consist of 10 players per team, grades 6-7-8. The 5th grade
will remain at 12 players per team. The boys will compete in the Patriot and Cranberry Leagues against
other local towns.
The mission of the Abington Stars Program is to prepare our younger boys for
high school basketball. With this in mind the Abington Stars Basketball Program is designed to be very
competitive. Playing time is not guaranteed, it is earned!! The coaches will do their
very best to make sure all the kids play.
We have the best coaches in town for our program.
They will teach your sons at a very high level and demand a lot from them on the court. The important
thing to remember is that they are students first. School is always before basketball. Your
son will be expected to make practices and games. If he can’t attend, then HE should call the coach
and let him know as far in advance as possible.
It is also important to either give or deny permission
to post your sons name or picture on our website, www.abingtonstars.com. The sole purpose for this is to notify the kids of the rosters when the teams are chosen, and also if
there are any pictures we want to post. They and their likeness will not be used for anything other than
that.
I look forward to a large turnout this year and I am very excited about getting the season
